Client-provided reference slide outlining material selections, mood, and the Yacht Club’s setting. The design brief emphasized a luxurious yet relaxing atmosphere, one that feels communal and seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor environments while celebrating the surrounding nature.
The client aimed to showcase their premium leather collection as the focal point of the space. The design approach ensured the leather remained the hero, supported by furnishings and spatial elements that enhance its texture, color, and craftsmanship without competing for attention.
Early ideation centered on developing the spatial layout and custom furniture concepts. Elevation plans enabled rapid exploration of circulation and gathering areas, identifying where members would naturally connect. Each furniture piece was conceived to feature generous leather applications, emphasizing the client’s product as a defining element of the design.
Elevation plans were translated into Rhino to rapidly build low-fidelity spatial studies. These models were then processed through Vizcom to quickly visualize material palettes and lighting conditions. The resulting images provided an early sense of atmosphere and emotion, guiding refinements to the overall aesthetic direction.
Four conceptual spaces were selected to showcase the leather collection within a luxurious, naturally inspired environment. The client reviewed these options and selected Yacht Club 3 to move forward, recognizing its balance of elegance, comfort, and material presence.
A secondary ideation phase focused on the selected scene, refining the camera angle to highlight the leather as the primary focal point. Furniture adjustments were made to maximize leather presence while maintaining a balanced, uncluttered spatial composition. This process ensured the final visualization would celebrate the material’s quality and craftsmanship while preserving the elegance and flow of the space.
The space began to take on its distinct character, but clutter and competing elements kept the leather from being the focal point. Simplification was needed to let the leather shine while preserving the luxurious, exclusive atmosphere of the club. Subtle details like wine glasses and spirits suggested the space’s purpose for dining or drinks, while the yacht in the background was positioned off to the side, enhancing the sense of luxury without distracting from the scene. These refinements brought clarity and focus to the design, ensuring the leather remained the true hero of the space.
With the space simplified, it gained a light, airy quality that feels both relaxing and exclusive. Fewer chairs created a more intimate and private environment. The scene was carefully examined, revealing opportunities to streamline further, such as the hanging lights and the third row of seating overlooking the water. Materials were refined to capture Garrett Leathers’ products and highlight the rich texture of the leather. The final step remained; producing a high-quality render to bring the vision to life.
The leather successfully takes center stage in the final image, immediately capturing your attention in the foreground. Your eyes follow the row of blue Surf leather chairs, move across the cool Ice Cap leather seats, and out into the warm, tropical setting. The scene feels light, airy, and inviting, you can almost hear the water and feel the breeze on your skin. The simple arrangement of furniture gives the space an intimate and exclusive atmosphere while the leather remains the hero of the composition, highlighted as both luxurious and comfortable.
